We owe our success over the last five decades in Rwanda to our customers. To ensure our own sustained growth and success as a business, we believe it is our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to empower the community in which we operate. Every year, we dedicate a portion of our total operating budget towards giving back to the community. We have a three-pillar strategy that guides our CSR interventions.

Our key Pillars

Part of our success as a business is a result of the contribution of our people, who are professionals with advanced skills in various disciplines. It is therefore important that we support our community to continue educating children and create a critical mass of skills. To achieve this, we work with various local and international partners including Imbuto Foundation; AIMS and Chevening scholarships.

Like Charles Darwin, we believe that it is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change. Even as we enjoy the position of a leading Bank in Rwanda, we know that it will count for nothing if we don’t constantly innovate and embrace the disruptive developments in our industry. This is a mentality we seek to promote through two of our key annual events; BK Urumuri and Robotics Academy.

We are honest enough to know the impact of our business on the environment especially on the aspect of paper. While committedly working towards cashless banking through popularizing digital service channels, we also work with local partners to conserve the environment through ongoing tree planting activities. We aim to plant a million trees by 2020.
