Key Accountabilities

Application Testing Lead is a newly created role in Bank of Kigali under the Transformation Program. This is an opportunity for a highly capable and experienced leader to help elevate and transform our capacity for quality assurance for various banking systems such as T24, ERP and other banking application. The Lead will be given the opportunity to lead us through implementation of automated testing tools to efficiently test applications and provide assurance.

This position offers the right candidate a visible role in a long-established and highly respected Bank in Rwanda. The lead will participate in enabling teams to expand automation beyond test execution and paving the way to Autonomous Testing to ensure Real-time Automation Intelligence, integration with AI and deep analytics as we develop the practices. Though it is a highly technical role, it is one that requires the candidate to demonstrate the ability to partner with the business, understand the organization’s business requirements and to build an execution roadmap to implement a full functional testing capability within the Bank

Main responsibilities but not limited to
  • Building up and leading the Testing Team to the success of project;
  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of each release / delivery;
  • Deploying and managing resources for testing;
  • Applying the appropriate test measurements and metrics in the product and the Testing Team;
  • Planning, deploying and managing the testing effort for any given engagement;
  • Leading, guiding and monitor the analysis, design, implementation and execution of the test cases, test procedures and test suites.
  • Ensuring proper configuration management of the test ware produced.
  • Ensuring test environment is put into place before test execution and managed during test execution.
  • Scheduling the tests for execution
  • Monitoring, measuring, controlling and reporting on the test progress, the product quality status and the test results, adapting the test plan and compensating as needed to adjust to evolving conditions.
  • Writing summary reports on test status
Professional, academic qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Software Development
  • ISTQB Certified and 5 years’ experience in testing
  • A minimum of Four (4) years’ experience in IT project Implementation including Unit Testing and User Acceptance testing
