Diane is Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Kigali. Since she joined in 2016, Diane has steered the bank through a digital transformation journey with aspirations to increase customer satisfaction, improve profitability and drive retail and SME customer acquisition.
Diane has also driven the expansion of the BK Group business into General Insurance, Investment Banking and Technology to respond to growing needs of the market and diversify sources of income for the company. Under her leadership, BK Group became the first home grown company with a balance sheet valued at over USD 1 billion.
Prior to joining Bank of Kigali, Diane served as the Head of Strategy and Policy and Chief Economist at the Office of the President. Diane earned her bachelor’s degree in Econometrics and PhD in Economics from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. Her research areas mainly concentrated on Risk Modeling and Measurement.
While in Switzerland, she worked as a Fixed Income Portfolio Engineer at Credit Suisse in Zurich and taught Statistics at the University of Fribourg, before moving back to Rwanda in 2009.
Diane also participated in the inaugural Senior Executive Program Africa by Harvard Business School in 2017.

Mr. Yves GATISMBANYI is a Chief Risk Officer at Bank of Kigali Plc. He has vast experience in financial sector particularly in risk management. He has been the Head of Risk and Compliance department in Bank of Kigali since early 2010 and later joined Bank of Kigali Executive Management Team as the Chief Risk Officer. Yves served as a bank examiner at the National Bank of Rwanda for ten years.
Prior to joining Bank of Kigali, he was the Head of Compliance and Internal Control at I&M Bank-Rwanda. He holds an MBA in finance and accounting from Mount Kenya University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the National University of Rwanda. He also has a diploma in Risk management in Finance & Banking and is a certified lead risk manager from PECB.

Prior to joining Bank of Kigali Plc, Benjamin had a long career of 13 years with I&M Bank Plc, part of I&M Group where he held various senior assignments in Corporate Banking, Retail, Credit and Finance.

Ms. Nathalie MPAKA is the Chief Finance Officer of BK Group Plc (BK) since 2014. She is dynamic and passionate about Financial Excellence and Value Creation, which earned her the prestigious 2019 AABLA nominations for the Chief Financial Officer of the Year and Business Women of the Year. She joined the Bank’s Management Team in 2011 as the Financial Reporting and Investor Relations Manager, and she is passionate about using data and insights to help drive informed decisions for various stakeholders. She has vast experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting as well as systems implementation. Nathalie is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), and currently completing her MSc in international Banking and Finance. Nathalie was previously a Governing Council member of ICPAR. Nathalie is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Finance strategy that supports the profitability, growth, and sustainability of BK Group Plc.
Further, the position coordinates the Group’s strategy development and implementation to ensure the achievement of its vision and mission. One of the key area for the position is also to coordinate Investors relationship management as a listed entity, to ensure timely funding is achieved for the business’s growth objectives.
Before returning to Rwanda in 2011, Nathalie studied and worked in the UK for over 10 years and held various financial positions. She is very confident of her determination to succeed, hence her strength interacting with different cultures. She is a strong supporter of positive energy to create extraordinary results though authenticity. Flora Nsinga is the Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer at Bank of Kigali and has been with the Bank since 2007. Prior to this, she was the Head of Human Resources and Administration. Flora joined the Bank with about ten years’ experience from the telecommunication industry.
During her tenure at BK, she has been a strategic advisor to the business in human resource and administration, contributing to the growth of the branch network as a key sales channel to its present 95 branches. She oversaw a restructuring in 2009 that sought to strategically align the bank’s capabilities in delivering value to shareholders through talent. She just completed a similar exercise, including a review of the performance management framework as well as key banking processes that further seeks to realign the bank’s human resource framework to ensure the bank is well positioned to add value to shareholders while delivering an excellent customer experience through a customer centric structure. Key to this is ensuring the availability of competent talent that places the bank ahead of competitors in an ever changing and competitive banking industry.
Under Administration, Flora is also responsible for procurement where her key mandate is directing all strategic sourcing for alignment with the Bank’s strategy. Flora holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with specialization in Human Resources from Kigali Institute of Science, Technology and Management (KIST). Désiré Rumanyika, has been Bank of Kigali’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2017, responsible for the implementation of the Bank’s operating model by ensuring a stable, optimal and efficient services delivery ecosystem across the Bank’s expansive branch network and other digital channels.
Désiré has accumulated 20 years of experience in the financial sector. Prior to his current position at Bank of Kigali, he has worked with different financial institutions including but not limited to the East African Development Bank (EADB) as Country Manager for Rwanda from 2011 to 2016 and the Rwanda Development Bank (BRD) as Director for Corporate Affairs and Deputy Director General from 2004 to 2008. Désiré also led the successful set up of the Business Development Fund (BDF), a financial advisory institution; in 2010 he was subsequently appointed BDF first Chief Executive Officer, serving for 2 years before joining EADB in 2011.
Désiré has served on several Board of Directors including Banque Populaire du Rwanda, Banque de l’Habitat du Rwanda, Rwanda Enterprise Investment Company (REIC Ltd) and the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) based in Ivory Coast.
Désiré holds a Master’s degree in International Financial Services and banking law from the University of Liverpool (UoL) and an MBA in Banking from Netherlands’ Maastricht School of Management (MSM).

Mr. Obinna Ukwuani joined the bank as Chief Digital Officer in June 2020. As Chief Digital Officer he is responsible for leading the Digital Factory bank division as a center of excellence for product innovation and development in digital banking. He brings intuition for and relevant experience in product development, an entrepreneur’s business acumen, and a passion for customer experience into the role.
Obinna has seven years of experience leading entrepreneurial ventures spanning the areas of software, agricultural processing, and education. During these years he has directly created economic opportunity for hundreds of people, and has often implemented projects in challenging environments. A few of his companies continue to operate today, and, over the years, the initiatives have been recognised by international press and forums.
Before joining Bank of Kigali Plc, Obinna worked with Paystack, one of Africa’s foremost payment technology startups, in the areas of business operations and product management.

Bonaventure is the Chief Credit Officer at Bank of Kigali Plc. He has vast knowledge and experience in credit risk, financial and bank treasury management with over 10 years of banking experience, having worked as Credit Administration Manager at Guaranty Trust Bank (Rwanda) Ltd, and Domestic Bank Credit Risk Manager, Asset and Liability Manager (ALM) and Foreign Exchange Trader in Ecobank Rwanda. He joined Bank of Kigali Plc’s Management Team in April 2017.
Bonaventure, who is fluent in English, French, Swahili and Kinyarwanda, holds an MBA in Finance from Oklahoma Christian University and holds a first class Bachelor’s degree in Applied Statistics from the National University of Rwanda. He also holds an International Diploma in Banking Profession from the Institut Technique de Banque (ITB), Groupe CFPB-L’Ecole supérieure de la banque, France.
As Chief Credit Officer, Bonaventure is responsible for implementation of the Bank’s lending strategy, managing the loan book toward a high-quality credit portfolio, and ensuring compliance with all credit-related laws, regulations and directives. He leads the Credit Division in its essential duties of credit analysis and due diligence, credit documentation, loan monitoring, credit analytics and reporting, and loan recovery.
